Registered address: 1915 rue Beausite, Saint-Jérôme, Québec J5L 1E4, Canada Québec enterprise number (NEQ): 2279581245 Support contact: support@dolecular.com · Privacy contact: privacy@dolecular.com Effective date: 20 September 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account or use the App. We may update these Terms as the App evolves; material changes will be announced in the App before they take effect.
Where the App is offered: Canada and the United States. These Terms are written to Québec and Canadian law; a U.S. consumer keeps every right their state's law gives them regardless of anything below. The App is not offered in the EU or UK.
2. Language / Langue
Under the Charter of the French Language, a consumer contract offered by a Québec enterprise must be made available in French. A French version of these Terms is published at /fr/terms; you can read either version before accepting.
If you choose to proceed in English:
Les parties reconnaissent avoir pris connaissance de la version française des présentes conditions et avoir expressément demandé qu'elles soient rédigées en anglais. / The parties acknowledge having reviewed the French version of these terms and having expressly requested that they be drafted in English.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract to create an account. If you're a minor where you live, a parent or guardian must permit and supervise your use of the App. Dolecular is built for household coordination between adults - a child or dependent can be represented in a family as a managed profile added and controlled by an adult Family Admin, without creating their own account or providing us any personal information directly (see the Privacy Policy §6). Current limitation: the App does not verify age at signup; this section states the rule, not an enforced technical gate. Voice commands are for people 18 and over. The AI service behind them is provided to us on terms that do not allow it to be used by anyone under 18, so if you are under 18, please leave voice turned off. Turning it on confirms that you are 18 or older.
4. Accounts
One account per person. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You sign in with an email and password or with Google, via Firebase Authentication - there is no anonymous or guest account. You're responsible for giving an accurate, reachable email address, since it's how we'd reach you about account or security issues.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or is used to access a family or account you don't have permission to access. Where practical we'll explain why.
You may request account deletion at any time - see the Privacy Policy §4 and §5 for what that removes and how long it takes.
5. Families and shared content
Content you or a family member adds to a shared family - todos, grocery items, notes, calendar occurrences - is visible to other members of that family according to their role (Admin, Editor or Viewer). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, sync and display that content as needed to operate the App, ending when the content is deleted. You're responsible for what you and the members you invite add to your family.
6. AI-assisted features
Parts of the App use artificial intelligence to turn what you say or write into entries. Today that means voice commands, which turn a sentence into reminders, notes, or grocery items, and recipe-photo extraction, which turns a photo of a recipe into its ingredients and steps. We expect AI to do more in the App over time - whatever we add is covered by this section, and where it materially changes what happens to your information we will announce it before it takes effect and ask for your consent again, as the Privacy Policy §11 sets out.
It will sometimes be wrong. Interpreting speech and language is a best effort, not a guarantee. It can mishear a word, choose the wrong date, assign something to the wrong person, create something you did not ask for, or do nothing when you expected it to act. Treat what it creates as a draft worth looking at - it is yours to edit or delete like any other entry, and the fact that the App produced it is not a reason to trust it more than something you typed yourself.
Do not depend on it for anything critical. As the warranties and liability section below already says of reminders generally, Dolecular is a household organization tool. Do not rely on an AI-created or AI-scheduled reminder for medication, medical appointments, legal or tax deadlines, financial obligations, or anything else where being wrong or late causes real harm. Those you should verify yourself.
Where your words go. To interpret a request, the App sends its text to a third-party AI provider. Who that provider is, what it receives, and what we keep and for how long are set out in the Privacy Policy §1, §3 and §4. Before that, your device or browser turns your voice into text using its own speech-recognition service, which may send the audio to its maker (Google or Apple, for example); we never receive the audio. AI features that send your content to a provider require their own separate consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time in Settings - withdrawing it switches those features off and leaves the rest of the App working normally.
What it produces is your content. An entry created through an AI feature is treated exactly like one you entered yourself, under the families and shared content section above: the same visibility to your family, the same licence to us to store and sync it, and the same deletion.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the App's servers, another account, or a family you don't belong to.
- Impersonate another person or Dolecular.
- Use the App to store or share unlawful content, or to break any applicable law.
- Use the AI-assisted features to produce unlawful, harmful or abusive content.
8. Our content and intellectual property
The App as a whole - its code, design, and the "Dolecular" name and branding - belongs to Dolecular. Using the App gives you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use it for household organization. It does not transfer ownership of anything to you.
9. Paid features
No paid features or subscriptions are available as of this version. If they are introduced, a purchase-specific section will be added covering pricing, refunds, and any Apple/Google platform payment terms, and - because Québec's Consumer Protection Act regulates prepaid and distance contracts - that section will be drafted with counsel rather than adapted from a template.
10. Service availability
The App is provided on an "as available" basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access - maintenance, updates and occasional downtime should be expected, especially during active development. Notifications depend on Firebase Cloud Messaging and network conditions outside our control.
Where the App runs. The App's servers and database are hosted in the United States, by Supabase and Google Cloud acting as our service providers under written data-processing agreements. Using the App therefore involves your information being sent to and stored in the United States. We assessed that transfer before making it, as Québec law requires, and the Privacy Policy §4 sets out who receives what, why, and what protections apply.
11. Warranties and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. In particular, and as required in Québec:
- We do not exclude liability for bodily or moral injury, or for our own gross or intentional fault (Civil Code of Québec, art. 1474).
- We do not limit the legal warranties owed to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act.
Subject to those carve-outs, and only to the extent applicable law allows: the App is provided "as is," without warranties beyond those the law requires, including fitness for a particular purpose - Dolecular is a household organization tool, not a substitute for critical safety, medical, or legal reminders. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including a missed or delayed reminder. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100. The App is currently free, so (a) is normally zero and the effective cap is CAD $100.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and request account deletion at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for a breach of these Terms, or if we discontinue the App entirely - in which case we'll give reasonable notice first.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. If you are a U.S. resident, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your state of residence.
We ask you to contact us first, at support@dolecular.com. If that doesn't resolve it: if you are a consumer, you keep every right Québec law gives you, including bringing proceedings in the judicial district of your own domicile and participating in a class action - these Terms contain no mandatory arbitration clause and no class-action waiver. Otherwise, the courts of the judicial district in which our head office is situated (Saint-Jérôme, Québec) have jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents you from complaining to a regulator, including the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec for privacy matters or the Office de la protection du consommateur.
14. General
- If part of these Terms does not hold up, the rest still does.
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
- Not enforcing something once does not waive it.
- You may not transfer your account to someone else. We may transfer our rights if the App or the business behind it changes hands; you would be told, and the Privacy Policy updated if the operator changes.
